Greece v Nigeria

1st Half Analysis

Dimitris Salpigidis made history in the 44’ by scoring the first goal for his country. He must be ecstatic. If fact, Greece must be thrilled to see that they do stand to gain a point (or 3) from this game. Nigeria were a goal up and were having a good game until Kaita was shown the red card. That was plain stupidity on his part. Torosidis sort of clashed into Kaita and then it goes beyond my understanding as to why Kaita tried to kick him. Now, with Nigeria down to 10 men and the scores leveled it’s going to be an interesting game (at least we hope so). (more…)


Argentina v Nigeria

1st Half Analysis

Both teams started out with a bang. Heinze’s 6’ goal gave Argentina the lead. Nigeria began well but they played more of a spaced out than an attacking game. Their midfield did not seem to co-ordinate well. Messi played some exceptional football but the Nigerian goalkeeper Enyeama was quick to defend. So far, Argentina has been the far better side. Let’s see what the second half brings us. (more…)
