1st Half Analysis
Both teams started out with a bang. Heinze’s 6’ goal gave Argentina the lead. Nigeria began well but they played more of a spaced out than an attacking game. Their midfield did not seem to co-ordinate well. Messi played some exceptional football but the Nigerian goalkeeper Enyeama was quick to defend. So far, Argentina has been the far better side. Let’s see what the second half brings us.
2nd Half Analysis
What a second half it has been for Messi and Nigeria. I say Messi because he had 12 shots on goal from 20. Well, let’s just say that tonight wasn’t his night. Nigeria on the other hand were lucky to lose 1-0, thanks to Enyeama. He did an excellent job at the goal post. The Nigerians did have a few chances but they did not get anything out of it. On the whole, Argentina were the better team. I almost forgot to mention that Messi suffered innumerable fouls and no one was penalized for it… Poor Messi, I’m guessing he has grown used to it by now. Maradonna was over the top and boy will they celebrate tonight…..but, I’m guessing they will deny it by saying “Yes, We are very happy with the result but now we must focus on the next game. Korea is a good team and we must work hard if we want a good result.”
Like I said, Enyeama did a good job and thus the Man of the Match goes to him.
