Uruguay v France

France failed to impress the held position and lacked the killer touch , Diego was outstanding at 31, he still demands respect on the field and could have made the french pay but it was not to be . But overall the day’s result suits the host nation .

Uruguay’s defense was absolutely outstanding. This game held the same story for France as the earlier game did for Mexico, many missed opportunities. I’m sure possession shows that France should have dominated, but as I said before it was the “Blue Wall” (as the announcers referred to it) of Uruguay that lead to Group A being all tied up after their first games.                                                           Dave

1st Half Analysis

Ok, so the game started off with a bang. Both sides played good football. Each had a chance to score, but neither team succeeded in doing so. A few of  the shots were offside. Midway the game seemed to go a little bit low. As the scores are yet 0-0 lets see what the 2nd half brings us.

2nd Half Analysis

The game remains a draw. Lodeiro (URU) picked up 2 yellow cards and was thus sent off. Nothing special to report. With both games turning out to be draws the next round of Group A matches will prove to be crucial. Diego Forlan was the man of the match.
